Financial District Detached Single Family Homes For Sale

As its name suggests, The Financial District is a commercial office.” area in the central business district of Vancouver. In fact, it has gotten its name because it contains more than 60% of the whole office space in Greater Vancouver. It’s an area with offices, non-governmental organizations (NGO), headquarter and branch offices of national and international banks and financial services, accounting and law firms, overseas missions and consulates, and luxury hotels. The development of the neighbourhood took place in the early 1900s when several buildings were constructed but mostly expanded after 1980 when most of today’s businesses opened their offices here.

Aside from office buildings, corporations, and local businesses, The Financial District is home to many historical and heritage buildings known across all of Canada. The list constantly expands and currently includes the Vancouver Stock Exchange, Dominion Trust Building, The Sun Tower, and many more. Some of the notable skyscrapers and buildings in the area are Trump International Hotel and Tower, HSBC Canada Building, Harbour Centre, Guinness Tower, Burrard Building, Royal Centre, and more.

Residential space is pretty scarce here, with a minimal number of single-family homes where permanent residents live. Most of the community are professionals that work in the surrounding offices, so the profile of people is pretty versatile, same as the businesses that operate here. In terms of price, you can expect to see properties for sale that cost upwards of $1m for a one-bedroom single-family home.
