International Village Detached Single Family Homes For Sale

Situated between International Village, the Financial District, Japantown, Downtown Eastside and Strathcona, International Village is one of the most popular neighbourhoods in Vancouver that carries its own unique style and history recognized worldwide. Its roots date back to 1887, when Chinese labourers settled along the shore of False Creek. The community quickly started growing and became the largest Chinatown in Canada and the second-largest in North America.

Today, International Village symbolizes Vancouver’s diversity, welcoming people of all races, cultures, and nationalities. It’s a historic district represented by recognizable architecture with recessed balconies, decorative parapets and cornices. There are continuous efforts to preserve this architecture and encourage the rehabilitation of early International Village buildings to ensure the area will maintain its distinct look and energy.

There is still a lot of work to be done as International Village is still considered an underdeveloped area of the city. Because of this, properties are more affordable compared to some other areas. You can find single-family homes for sale starting at $500,000 for one-bedroom units, although they may need some TLC to be able to live comfortably in it. International Village is a cheaper neighbourhood in terms of property prices, so the typical price you can expect to pay in this area is around $1,000 per square foot. However, the cost can vary depending on the exact location of the property. The closer you get to the downtown area, the higher the price will be.
