Home Inspectors don't usually check gas fireplaces. John from Expert Gas shows us how to inspect a gas fireplace and what to watch out for when buying a home with one. If you need a fireplace serviced, this is your guy!
TRANSCRIPTION: Somebody gonna buy a property. This one, for example, we called you in just to see if it works and reconnected and everything went pretty well. What would you say is a good thing to look for a buyer or for a realtor? Because most inspectors do not really touch on gas fire places. I am John from Expert Gas. When you first buy a home, make it a subject to have fireplaces serviced. Now there's a ton of crazy work you gonna get. Main thing to look for is a black sweat here or under the mantle or an erratic fire. You see any of these situations or any bad odor, you need to call a licensed gas fixer to come fix it for you. But again, make it a subject to have the place inspected when you buy a place.
